The Opportunity:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support students with special educational needs both inside and outside the classroom. You will work in small groups to deliver targeted interventions and contribute to a positive learning environment. This is a vital role in helping students achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with identified SEND needs in and out of the classroom.
- Deliver targeted interventions in small group settings.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other Teaching Assistants to support student progress.
- Promote positive behaviour and create an environment conducive to learning.
- Assist with administrative tasks and record-keeping related to student support.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
- Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Engage with students and their families to ensure consistent support and communication.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in supporting students with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to the school’s Christian values and ethos.
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
Preferred
- Experience in delivering targeted interventions or support programmes.
- Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and SEN frameworks.
- Experience with behaviour management and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a school setting.
