The Opportunity:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support students with special educational needs both inside and outside the classroom. You will work in small groups to deliver targeted interventions and contribute to a positive learning environment. This is a vital role in helping students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with identified SEND needs in and out of the classroom.
  • Deliver targeted interventions in small group settings.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other Teaching Assistants to support student progress.
  • Promote positive behaviour and create an environment conducive to learning.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and record-keeping related to student support.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
  • Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Engage with students and their families to ensure consistent support and communication.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to the school’s Christian values and ethos.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering targeted interventions or support programmes.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and SEN frameworks.
  • Experience with behaviour management and positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a school setting.
