The Opportunity:

As SENDCO and Head of Inclusive Learning, you will lead and inspire the school’s inclusive learning team, ensuring that students with SEND receive the support they need to thrive academically and socially. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a dynamic, growing school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the school’s SEND strategy, ensuring alignment with current reforms and best practice.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to staff, students, and families across the curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior and middle leaders to drive whole-school inclusion and support strategies.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support frameworks.
  • Champion inclusive teaching practices and ensure all students have access to high-quality learning opportunities.
  • Work closely with external agencies and parents to support student outcomes and well-being.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion and celebrate the achievements of all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in supporting students with SEND.
  • Hold or be committed to obtaining the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of SEND reforms and developments.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external partners.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a SEND team or department.
  • Demonstrable experience in inclusive teaching and learning practices.
  • Experience with curriculum development for students with SEND.
  • Knowledge of pastoral care and student well-being strategies.
  • Familiarity with inclusive learning technologies and resources.
