The Opportunity:

As a Senior Administrator, you will lead the administration function, ensuring the school operates efficiently and supports students in achieving their full potential. This role is central to maintaining the school’s smooth daily operations and fostering a positive, supportive culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the administration team to ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard and on time.
  • Oversee the effective operation of administrative processes, including payroll, finance, HR, and referrals.
  • Develop and maintain efficient record-keeping and filing systems to support school operations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including site staff and central services, to ensure seamless communication and support.
  • Support recruitment processes, including pre-employment checks and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Manage financial and accounting administration, including invoice processing, petty cash, and reconciliation.
  • Coordinate new pupil admissions and transition processes, ensuring a smooth start for students and families.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including parents, local authorities, and transport providers, to support referrals and admissions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in leading and managing a team with a focus on administrative processes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle a varied and busy workload.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience in overseeing payroll and HR functions.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience in education or a similar sector, particularly with young people with special needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and regulatory standards in education.
  • Experience with recruitment processes and pre-employment checks.
  • Familiarity with educational administration systems and software.
