The Opportunity:
As a Senior Assistant Headteacher Inclusion, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the school and ensuring that every student receives an education rooted in inclusion and excellence. This is an opportunity to lead and influence in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop inclusive education strategies across the school.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to drive whole-school improvement.
- Support and guide the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) in delivering outstanding provision for students with additional needs.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, integrity, and shared values across the school community.
- Ensure that all students have access to high-quality, inclusive learning experiences.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of inclusion initiatives and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Represent the school in external meetings, partnerships, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies that support inclusion and student achievement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, ideally in inclusion or special educational needs.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to influence and inspire others.
- In-depth knowledge of inclusion practices, SEND policies, and current educational legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
- Commitment to the school’s values and mission, including faith-based education and community partnership.
Preferred
- Experience in a Catholic school or similar educational setting.
- A relevant postgraduate qualification in education leadership or special educational needs.
- Experience in developing and implementing school-wide improvement strategies.
- Familiarity with the Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust and its mission.
