The Opportunity:

As a Senior Hockey Coach, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing the school's hockey programme. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Director of Hockey in delivering high-quality coaching to students of all ages, with a focus on preparing elite players for national competition. The role also involves contributing to the broader sporting programme and providing strength and conditioning support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the hockey programme for both male and female players across all age groups.
  • Support the Director of Hockey in planning and delivering coaching sessions, competitions, and training camps.
  • Identify and nurture high-potential players, with a focus on U18 development and national-level competition.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Athletic Development to deliver structured strength and conditioning sessions.
  • Assist in the delivery of other sports programmes as required, including on Saturdays.
  • Organise and run sports camps, pre-season training, and trips during school holidays.
  • Contribute to the overall sporting vision of the school and support the Director of Sport in achieving strategic goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience coaching male and female hockey players across a range of age groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high-potential players at U18 level.
  • Experience in delivering national-level competition and elite hockey development.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a coeducational environment.
  • Background in strength and conditioning or athletic development.
  • Experience in managing and leading a sports programme within a school setting.
  • Knowledge of sports administration and event planning.
