The Opportunity:
As a Senior ICT Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and developing the school's IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless support for staff and students across all locations. This is a vital position for someone passionate about technology and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and manage all ICT resources across the school
- Maintain and support staff laptops and desktop computers
- Ensure stable and secure connectivity across all school sites
- Allocate and manage IT equipment as required
- Implement and monitor backup procedures for critical systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with ICT equipment, including telephone systems and CCTV
- Maintain and update antivirus solutions across the campus
- Manage the SIMS system and assist with timetable creation
- Oversee server maintenance and support the transition to cloud-based solutions
- Ensure secure network configurations, including understanding of security, VPNs, and fiber connectivity
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in IT support or IT technician roles
- Associate degree or advanced apprenticeship in Computer Science or a related field
- In-depth knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
- Practical experience with internet and network security protocols
- Strong problem-solving and technical documentation skills
- Experience in upgrading a school IT system
- Experience working in a school or education environment
- Experience with SIMS system management and timetable creation
Preferred
- Experience with Unifi networking equipment
- Experience with Smoothwall firewall solutions
