Senior ICT Technician sought to manage IT infrastructure and support staff and students.

The Opportunity:

As a Senior ICT Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving the school's IT systems. You will lead SharePoint, deliver IT training, and provide technical support to staff and students. This is a hands-on role that combines problem-solving, project involvement, and the opportunity to keep systems running smoothly and securely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage SharePoint, ensuring it is a useful shared area for staff
  • Deliver IT training sessions, at least three times per year based on academy needs
  • Provide high-quality technical support, advice, and guidance to staff and students
  • Log, track, and manage all IT incidents and service requests, escalating as needed
  • Document known issues, workarounds, and solutions in the Knowledge Base
  • Install, configure, and maintain a range of IT devices and systems
  • Support and maintain server, network, and infrastructure elements, ensuring security and availability
  • Administer Active Directory accounts, user groups, and access permissions
  • Assist in ICT projects and document IT procedures and updates

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Significant, recent experience in a similar IT Service and Support role, preferably in a secondary school or educational environment
  • Current, in-depth experience of supporting Windows 10 PCs, laptops, and tablets
  • Recent experience of supporting Apple products, including iMacs and iPads, in an educational environment
  • Proven experience of supporting Microsoft products, including Office 365 and Office 2016, SharePoint, and other desktop-related products
  • Current, proven experience of Active Directory, including the administration of User accounts, Distribution and Security Groups within a Windows Server 2012 Active Directory
  • Excellent troubleshooting and resolution skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft products, including Office 365 and Office 2016, SharePoint, and Apple OS

Preferred

  • Experience of delivering small projects and managing scope and customer expectations
  • Experience of preparing and maintaining IT/AV setups for meetings, training sessions, and events
  • Experience of staying up to date with new technology developments and best practices
