The Opportunity:

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead and support the delivery of strategic projects, including the development of new sixth form free schools and academy conversions. This is a pivotal role in shaping high-profile education initiatives that will raise standards and improve opportunities for young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of strategic projects, including new school openings and academy conversions.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans covering all phases of project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across the Trust, local authorities, and the Department for Education.
  • Provide strategic oversight and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Monitor and manage risks, ensuring timely identification and resolution of potential issues.
  • Support the establishment of new sixth form colleges and ensure alignment with the school’s mission and values.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leaders, operational teams, and external partners.
  • Drive progress in fast-moving environments and ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in delivering complex projects, preferably within the education sector.
  • Strong strategic and operational project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams and teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and provide evidence-based reporting.
  • Willingness to travel across England where required.

Preferred

  • Experience in school development, academy conversions, or similar educational initiatives.
  • Knowledge of the UK education system and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience working with multi-academy trusts or similar educational organizations.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
