Senior School Nurse needed for a UK boarding school. Lead healthcare and welfare initiatives.

The Opportunity:
As a Senior School Nurse, you will provide strategic leadership and operational management of the medical centre, ensuring the highest standards of healthcare and pupil welfare. This role plays a pivotal part in safeguarding and wellbeing across the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the nursing and administrative team to ensure efficient and effective medical services.
- Oversee clinical governance, staffing, training, and budget management.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, child protection, and regulatory frameworks.
- Collaborate with senior pastoral colleagues, GPs, counsellors, and external providers to support student wellbeing.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives for medical services.
- Provide clinical leadership and support during emergencies and routine healthcare provision.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality in line with legal and ethical standards.
- Promote health education and preventative care across the school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Registered nurse with a minimum of five years’ post-registration experience.
- Demonstrable leadership and management experience.
- Experience in school nursing or medical centre management.
- Strong decision-making and organisational skills.
- Ability to work within safeguarding and child protection frameworks.
Preferred
- Experience in independent education or boarding school environments.
- Familiarity with UK healthcare regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in managing budgets and teams.
