The Opportunity:

As a Senior Science Technician, you will lead and coordinate the technician team, supporting the delivery of physics, biology, and chemistry across a dynamic science department. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate the technician team to ensure smooth operation of the science department.
• Prepare and set up experiments and equipment for physics, biology, and chemistry lessons.
• Maintain and ensure the safe use of all science equipment and laboratory facilities.
• Supervise and support students during practical lessons and experiments.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all science-related activities.
• Collaborate with science teachers to deliver high-quality practical learning experiences.
• Stay updated with developments in science education and laboratory practices.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement and refurbishment of science facilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A science-related vocational or academic qualification.
• Practical competence in using science equipment and laboratory tools.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a science environment.
• Experience of leading a team or supervising others.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience in a school or educational setting.
• Knowledge of GCSE and A-Level science curricula.
• Experience with science laboratory management or refurbishment projects.
