The Opportunity:

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting. This is a hands-on position that requires leadership, compassion, and a commitment to the well-being and development of each individual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team of support workers, ensuring a safe, caring, and motivating environment for young people.
  • Provide direct physical and emotional support to children and young people with complex needs.
  • Support the induction, mentoring, and development of new team members towards mandatory training and qualifications.
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of individual program plans, ensuring they are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Coordinate and delegate activities, ensuring full coverage and the smooth running of daily operations.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all young people are prioritized at all times.
  • Work closely with team leaders and care managers to maintain a positive and stable environment.
  • Participate in off-site activities and support the overall development of young people.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • QCF Level 3 in Childcare or Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children with complex needs and challenging behaviours
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team

Preferred

  • Experience in a residential or therapeutic care setting
  • Knowledge of therapeutic interventions and individual care planning
  • Experience with children with autism or degenerative conditions
  • Familiarity with sensory and therapeutic environments
