The Opportunity:

As a Site Security Manager, you will lead and deliver a comprehensive security strategy across a beautiful 130-acre school estate. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety of pupils, colleagues, and visitors, while fostering a culture of professionalism and care. The position offers a unique opportunity to make a real impact in a growing and evolving institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the school’s Security Strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Martyn’s Law (Protect Duty) and wider statutory requirements.
  • Conduct regular security risk and threat assessments across the campus.
  • Coordinate responses to critical incidents, working closely with emergency services.
  • Oversee lockdown procedures, training, and scenario-based exercises.
  • Manage and develop the Security and Amenities Team, including rotas, performance, and wellbeing.
  • Ensure effective operation of access control, CCTV, visitor management, and perimeter security.
  • Provide security advice and risk assessments for events and external lettings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior security role, ideally within the military, police, or uniformed services.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Ability to manage risk, incidents, and safety in a complex environment.
  • Understanding of statutory requirements, including Martyn’s Law (Protect Duty).
  • Experience in developing and implementing security strategies and procedures.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing a team and delivering training programs.
  • Knowledge of CCTV systems, access control, and perimeter security.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Experience in a large, complex educational environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £38,000 to £45,623.
