The Opportunity:

As a Site Security Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and smooth operation of school facilities during after-school activities and external lettings. This is a newly created role that offers the chance to be part of a growing and dedicated security team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site patrols and security checks, including monitoring access points and exits.
  • Monitor site activity and appropriately challenge unsafe or unacceptable behaviour.
  • Act as a friendly and professional point of contact for external lettings users.
  • Support setup and takedown of rooms, courts, and pitches via the helpdesk.
  • Ensure facilities are left safe, tidy, and secure at the end of activities.
  • Monitor litter, debris, and playing surfaces, including frost or moss build-up.
  • Support car park management and traffic flow when required.
  • Manage lost property and issue colleague ID cards following HR approval.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Reliable and approachable with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically active and able to perform site patrols and security checks.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, health, and safety at all times.

Preferred

  • Experience in a security or facilities role.
  • Customer service skills and a friendly, professional manner.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as part of a shift pattern.
  • Familiarity with security monitoring systems and procedures.
