Summary:

Sixth Form Student Support Worker needed to provide pastoral care and support to Year 12 and 13 students.

The Opportunity:

As a Sixth Form Student Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students in Years 12 and 13, providing guidance and assistance with pastoral care and day-to-day queries. This is a key position in ensuring students feel supported and empowered to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and effective support to students in Years 12 and 13 with pastoral care and general inquiries.
  • Act as the first point of contact for students and parents regarding a wide range of student-related issues.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student welfare.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions and support provided.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school environment that encourages student engagement and well-being.
  • Assist with the organisation and delivery of student events and activities.
  • Support the implementation of school policies and procedures related to student conduct and behaviour.
  • Provide regular updates to relevant staff and senior leadership on student welfare and progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or educational setting.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Preferred

  • Experience in a pastoral or student support role within a school.
  • Knowledge of student welfare policies and procedures.
  • Experience in delivering support to students in Years 12 and 13.
  • Experience with conflict resolution and mediation.
