The Opportunity:
As a Social Emotional and Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH needs and ensuring their success within the school. This is a key position that contributes directly to the well-being and academic progress of students, working in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and strengthen SEMH provision through collaboration with staff and external partners.
- Provide targeted support to students with identified Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
- Ensure safeguarding principles are upheld in all student interactions and interventions.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to promote student well-being.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of SEMH strategies and programs.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions on student outcomes.
- Support the school’s mission to build resilience and remove barriers to learning.
- Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Grade 4 (C) and above in GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding principles and responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and delivering SEMH programs.
- Experience with student support services or pastoral care.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar qualifications.
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
