The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Science Teacher to join a high-achieving department. This role offers the opportunity to teach a range of subjects including Psychology, Economics, Sociology, and Criminology to Key Stage 5 students. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring educator who is committed to delivering engaging and impactful lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Social Science subjects to Key Stage 5 students.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student learning and achievement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental success.
- Support the school’s ethos by fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and leadership skills.
- Engage in extracurricular activities that promote student interest in Social Science subjects.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Social Science.
- Experience teaching at Key Stage 5 or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the school’s values and ethos.
- Ability to teach a minimum of two out of the four Social Science subjects.
Preferred
- Experience with Psychology, Economics, Sociology, or Criminology.
- A specialism in one or more of the Social Science subjects.
- Experience working with ECTs or in a mentoring role.
- A passion for developing students’ academic and personal growth.
