The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Science Teacher to join a high-achieving department. This role offers the opportunity to teach a range of subjects including Psychology, Economics, Sociology, and Criminology to Key Stage 5 students. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring educator who is committed to delivering engaging and impactful lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Social Science subjects to Key Stage 5 students.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student learning and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental success.
  • Support the school’s ethos by fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and leadership skills.
  • Engage in extracurricular activities that promote student interest in Social Science subjects.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Social Science.
  • Experience teaching at Key Stage 5 or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and ethos.
  • Ability to teach a minimum of two out of the four Social Science subjects.

Preferred

  • Experience with Psychology, Economics, Sociology, or Criminology.
  • A specialism in one or more of the Social Science subjects.
  • Experience working with ECTs or in a mentoring role.
  • A passion for developing students’ academic and personal growth.
