The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Social Sciences Teacher to join a forward-thinking school on a maternity cover basis. The role offers the chance to teach Citizenship, Sociology, Criminology, Psychology, SPHERE, and Humanities across the 11-18 age range. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced and newly qualified teachers to make an impact in a school with a growing reputation and excellent facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a range of Social Sciences subjects including Citizenship, Sociology, Criminology, Psychology, SPHERE, and Humanities across the 11-18 age range.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and inspire students, promoting a love of learning.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s curriculum and teaching strategies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Humanities Department to support student progress and achievement.
- Participate in pastoral care and student support initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments of student performance.
- Support extracurricular activities and school events as required.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community to promote student success and wellbeing.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Social Sciences or related subjects.
- Ability to teach Citizenship, Sociology, Criminology, Psychology, SPHERE, and/or Humanities.
- Experience teaching across the 11-18 age range.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience with SPHERE and Humanities curriculum.
- Experience in teaching at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Experience with Citizenship and/or Sociology.
- Experience in a school undergoing expansion or development.
- Experience in a school with a strong pastoral system and inclusive culture.
