Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Sociology lessons that meet the needs of all students.

  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Humanities department to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Support the school's mission by fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities and personal development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the Sociology curriculum and pedagogy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Sociology or a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching Sociology at the secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Catholic school or similar educational setting.
  • Knowledge of current issues in Sociology and the ability to relate them to real-world contexts.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
