The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Spanish Teacher to join our dynamic department. The role involves delivering high-quality lessons, supporting student progress, and contributing to a supportive and collaborative school culture. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Spanish lessons to students across all key stages.
  • Support student progress and achievement through innovative teaching methods and formative assessment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the department and Trust to share best practice and develop the curriculum.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students as a form tutor.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives, including the house system and extra-curricular activities.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities, including weekly training and one-to-one coaching.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Monitor, record, and report on student learning and progress effectively.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Ability to teach Spanish to at least Key Stage 4.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum requirements.
  • Awareness of recent developments in curriculum design and teaching and learning.
  • Understanding of strategies to motivate and engage all students across the ability range.
  • Knowledge of effective methods for assessing, recording, and reporting students’ learning and progress.
  • A reflective mindset and a strong drive for continuous self-improvement.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Spanish at Key Stage 5.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL).
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar structure.
  • Experience with pastoral care and form tutoring.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
