We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Spanish Teacher to join our dynamic department. The role involves delivering high-quality lessons, supporting student progress, and contributing to a supportive and collaborative school culture. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective Spanish lessons to students across all key stages.
- Support student progress and achievement through innovative teaching methods and formative assessment.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the department and Trust to share best practice and develop the curriculum.
- Provide pastoral care and support to students as a form tutor.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, including the house system and extra-curricular activities.
- Engage in professional development opportunities, including weekly training and one-to-one coaching.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s curriculum and assessment strategies.
- Monitor, record, and report on student learning and progress effectively.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Ability to teach Spanish to at least Key Stage 4.
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum requirements.
- Awareness of recent developments in curriculum design and teaching and learning.
- Understanding of strategies to motivate and engage all students across the ability range.
- Knowledge of effective methods for assessing, recording, and reporting students’ learning and progress.
- A reflective mindset and a strong drive for continuous self-improvement.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching Spanish at Key Stage 5.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL).
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar structure.
- Experience with pastoral care and form tutoring.
- Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
