The Opportunity:
As a Special Educational Needs Class Teacher, you will be instrumental in developing and delivering inclusive learning experiences for pupils with additional needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality, individualized teaching plans for pupils with special educational needs.
- Support the integration of pupils into mainstream learning where appropriate.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to create a cohesive support network.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback to stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school and legal requirements.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Stay up to date with current best practices in special educational needs support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in special educational needs.
- Strong knowledge of SEND provision and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in mainstream and special needs education settings.
- Familiarity with assessment frameworks and individual education plans (IEPs).
- Experience with differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies.
- Proficiency in using assistive technology and ICT tools in the classroom.
