The Opportunity:

As a Special Educational Needs Class Teacher, you will be instrumental in developing and delivering inclusive learning experiences for pupils with additional needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality, individualized teaching plans for pupils with special educational needs.
  • Support the integration of pupils into mainstream learning where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to create a cohesive support network.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback to stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school and legal requirements.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with current best practices in special educational needs support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in special educational needs.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND provision and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in mainstream and special needs education settings.
  • Familiarity with assessment frameworks and individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies.
  • Proficiency in using assistive technology and ICT tools in the classroom.
