The Opportunity:

As a Special Educational Needs Coordinator, you will lead and develop inclusive practice across the school, ensuring that all pupils with additional needs receive the support required to succeed. This is a key role in shaping the school's SEND provision and driving forward its inclusive ethos.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop high-quality special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provision across the school.
  • Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to provide tailored support for pupils with additional needs.
  • Formulate, implement, and review SEN Support Plans in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Liaise with external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils and secure additional support when required.
  • Provide leadership and manage support staff to deliver outstanding SEND provision.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, staff, and external professionals.
  • Maintain detailed records and write strong applications for additional support funding.
  • Promote inclusive teaching approaches and ensure continuous professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the National Award for SEN Coordination.
  • Experience in supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs across primary age groups.
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching approaches.
  • Ability to formulate, implement, and review SEN Support Plans effectively.
  • Experience working with external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
