The Opportunity:

As a Special Educational Needs Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive. This is a leadership position that requires a passion for SEN and inclusion, along with a commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to support students with special educational needs.
  • Work closely with teaching, pastoral, safeguarding, and mental health teams to ensure a cohesive approach to inclusion.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on SEN best practices and inclusive teaching methods.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with special educational needs and report outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and parents to ensure a holistic support system for students.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student needs and interventions.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement across the SEN team.
  • Support the development of leadership skills within the inclusion team.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs and inclusion.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop inclusive educational strategies.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading and developing SEN provision in a school setting.
  • Familiarity with the latest SEN policy and practice.
  • Experience working with a range of external agencies and support services.
  • Knowledge of mental health support frameworks and interventions.
