Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of individualized learning programs tailored to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of therapeutic and educational strategies to promote student development.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, fostering independence and confidence.
  • Monitor and record student progress, communicating regularly with parents and staff.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Follow all school policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or relevant qualifications such as a CACHE Level 3 certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of child development and learning processes.

Preferred

  • Experience with individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting with students with disabilities.
