Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of individualized learning programs tailored to students with special educational needs.
- Assist in the implementation of therapeutic and educational strategies to promote student development.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, fostering independence and confidence.
- Monitor and record student progress, communicating regularly with parents and staff.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Follow all school policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student care.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs.
- Degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or relevant qualifications such as a CACHE Level 3 certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Understanding of child development and learning processes.
Preferred
- Experience with individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and inclusive teaching practices.
- Experience in a school or educational setting with students with disabilities.
