The Opportunity:

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will support students with complex needs and autism in their learning, care, and development. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure a positive and engaging learning experience for all students. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in their day-to-day learning, care, and development.
  • Assist with assessment, recording, and reporting on student progress and behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver a consistent and effective learning environment.
  • Provide one-to-one support where required, ensuring individual needs are met.
  • Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of bespoke educational activities and interventions.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and other professionals to support student progress.
  • Follow all school policies, procedures, and guidance from The Bridge Trust.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A genuine interest in working with children with complex needs and autism.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support the class teacher.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check and children’s barred list check.

Preferred

  • Previous experience working with children with complex needs or autism.
  • Experience in education or a related field.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
