The Opportunity:

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting autistic students aged 3-19. You will work as part of a dynamic team to deliver innovative and neurodiversity-affirming therapy, while building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative therapeutic interventions tailored to individual student needs
  • Support students in developing emotional regulation, resilience, and wellbeing
  • Train and upskill education professionals in neuro-affirming communication strategies
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create meaningful outcomes
  • Embed communication and interaction opportunities across school environments
  • Manage your own caseload with supervision from senior therapists
  • Work creatively and collaboratively using extensive resources and expert support
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in speech and language therapy
  • Experience working with autistic students or individuals with complex communication needs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to neurodiversity-affirming practices

Preferred

  • Experience with early years or specialist classroom settings
  • Experience in delivering training to education professionals
  • Knowledge of sensory and therapeutic interventions
  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Experience with the National Autistic Society standards
