The Opportunity:

A Speech and Language Therapist is needed to support students with a range of speech, language, and communication needs. This role involves close collaboration with parents, teachers, and colleagues to ensure holistic student development and progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans for students with speech and language needs.
  • Conduct regular assessments and produce detailed progress reports twice a year and every half term.
  • Liaise with parents through email and regular meetings to keep them informed of student progress.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to support students’ learning and communication development in the classroom.
  • Attend weekly department meetings and termly staff meetings to discuss student progress and departmental initiatives.
  • Provide specialist input during school events and enrichment activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and interventions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with relevant degree and professional registration.
  • Experience working with children with a range of speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to produce detailed progress reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Commitment to working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and other professionals.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting or with children in educational environments.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and enrichment programmes.
  • Experience with assessment tools and intervention strategies for communication disorders.
