The Opportunity:

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will deliver specialist assessment and intervention to pupils with a range of communication needs. This role offers the chance to work in a multidisciplinary team, contribute to research, and develop your skills in a supportive and flexible environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the education team and other professionals to support pupils with developmental trauma, neurodiversity, or SEMH needs.
  • Maintain a caseload of pupils, with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
  • Contribute to staff training and consultation as required, sharing expertise and best practices.
  • Develop and implement support plans based on individual communication profiles and needs.
  • Stay up to date with current Speech and Language Therapy standards and practice.
  • Communicate effectively with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ensure all interventions are in line with professional standards and legislation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree or Masters in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registered.
  • Experience working with individuals with complex communication profiles.
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settings.
  • Experience of communicating with families and carers.
  • Good relationship building, analytical, and judgmental skills.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Time management and organisational skills.
  • Competent in core areas of Speech and Language Therapy practice.
  • Knowledge of RCSLT Communication Standards and assessment tools.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
  • Understanding of legislation related to clinical practice and professional management.

Preferred

  • Understanding of sensory and motor differences impacting communication.
  • Awareness of the relationship between arousal levels and communication.
