The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic team of professionals committed to supporting pupils with complex needs through specialist Speech and Language Therapy. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students while working in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the education team to support pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs.
  • Maintain a Speech and Language Therapy caseload with the support of a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
  • Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
  • Follow the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working to ensure consistent and high-quality practice.
  • Engage with families, carers, and other professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Stay up to date with legislation and best practices in Speech and Language Therapy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Relevant experience working with individuals with complex communication needs.
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settings.
  • Experience of communicating with families, carers, and other professionals.
  • Good relationship building, analytical, and judgmental skills.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Competent in core areas of Speech and Language Therapy practice.
  • Understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards.
  • Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools and intervention strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Understanding of sensory and motor differences that may impact communication.
  • Knowledge of the relationship between arousal levels and communication.
  • Full driving license and access to a car.
