The Opportunity:
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will provide essential support to students aged 7–16 with dyslexia. This role is crucial in helping students develop the communication and language skills needed to succeed in both academic and personal life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 and small group speech and language therapy sessions tailored to the needs of dyslexic students.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language difficulties in students aged 7–16.
- Provide training and guidance to teachers, support staff, parents, and carers on speech and language development.
- Collaborate with teaching and health professionals to support student progress and well-being.
- Maintain professional standards through continuous professional development and adherence to school policies.
- Liaise with parents and guardians to ensure consistent support for students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs.
- Monitor and report on student progress and outcomes regularly.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with relevant professional registration.
- Experience working with children with dyslexia and specific learning difficulties.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred
- Experience in educational settings or specialist dyslexia schools.
- Knowledge of dyslexia and related learning difficulties.
- Experience in delivering training to staff and parents.
- Familiarity with assessment and intervention frameworks for speech and language therapy.
