The Opportunity:

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with speech and language needs. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide individual and group therapy sessions, ensuring each student receives tailored support to enhance their communication skills and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments and respond promptly to referrals to determine the specific therapeutic needs of students.
  • Deliver individual and group therapy sessions, both short and long-term, in line with each student's therapy plan.
  • Manage and monitor an assigned caseload, ensuring timely and effective delivery of interventions.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to provide holistic support for students.
  • Review and adjust interventions as needed to meet the evolving needs of students.
  • Support students in developing communication skills that promote independence and social interaction.
  • Work closely with the Therapy Manager to ensure the effective delivery of therapy services.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with autism and complex learning needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in an educational setting.
  • Previous experience with group and individual therapy sessions.
  • Knowledge of community-based learning and practical, hands-on teaching methods.
  • Experience with developing individualised support plans.
