A school is seeking a dynamic Sports Assistant to join its team on an 11-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for a graduate or university student looking to gain experience in the teaching profession. The successful candidate will assist in the teaching and officiating of sport across all age groups, with a focus on netball.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the teaching and officiating of sport across all age groups.
  • Support the delivery of sports activities and events.
  • Encourage and inspire students to participate in a range of sports.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement sports programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, enthusiasm, and lifelong learning.
  • Maintain and update sports equipment and facilities as required.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A graduate or a university student in their 3rd year of a 4-year degree.
  • Knowledge of rules and umpiring in sports such as netball, hockey, cricket, football, or rugby.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching, particularly in netball.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for sports and physical activity.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
