A school is seeking a dynamic Sports Assistant to join its team on an 11-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for a graduate or university student looking to gain experience in the teaching profession. The successful candidate will assist in the teaching and officiating of sport across all age groups, with a focus on netball.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the teaching and officiating of sport across all age groups.
- Support the delivery of sports activities and events.
- Encourage and inspire students to participate in a range of sports.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement sports programs.
- Provide guidance and support to students in a safe and inclusive environment.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, enthusiasm, and lifelong learning.
- Maintain and update sports equipment and facilities as required.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A graduate or a university student in their 3rd year of a 4-year degree.
- Knowledge of rules and umpiring in sports such as netball, hockey, cricket, football, or rugby.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.
Preferred
- Experience in coaching, particularly in netball.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for sports and physical activity.
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
- Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
