The Opportunity:

This role offers a unique opportunity for Sports Graduates to gain hands-on experience in both academic and pastoral settings. As a Sports Coach Graduate, you will support the delivery of PE and swimming lessons, coach in the afternoon, and contribute to after-school clubs and boarding house activities. This is a great chance to develop your skills while making a meaningful impact on students’ lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of PE and swimming lessons
  • Coach students in a variety of sports and activities during the afternoon
  • Support the running of after-school clubs and the Sport Scholars’ strength and conditioning programme
  • Contribute to the provision of activities for boarding pupils
  • Participate in leave-weekend activities and events
  • Support the running of the boarding house
  • Assist with pastoral care and student welfare
  • Engage in professional development opportunities, including potential support for a PGCE course

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant graduate degree in sports or a related field
  • A passion for working with young people and a commitment to safeguarding
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Commitment to promoting the welfare of children and young people

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching or teaching
  • Experience with pastoral care or boarding environments
  • Experience with strength and conditioning programmes
  • Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and policies
  • Previous involvement in youth development or sports programmes
