The Opportunity:
This role offers a unique opportunity for Sports Graduates to gain hands-on experience in both academic and pastoral settings. As a Sports Coach Graduate, you will support the delivery of PE and swimming lessons, coach in the afternoon, and contribute to after-school clubs and boarding house activities. This is a great chance to develop your skills while making a meaningful impact on students’ lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery of PE and swimming lessons
- Coach students in a variety of sports and activities during the afternoon
- Support the running of after-school clubs and the Sport Scholars’ strength and conditioning programme
- Contribute to the provision of activities for boarding pupils
- Participate in leave-weekend activities and events
- Support the running of the boarding house
- Assist with pastoral care and student welfare
- Engage in professional development opportunities, including potential support for a PGCE course
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant graduate degree in sports or a related field
- A passion for working with young people and a commitment to safeguarding
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly and independently
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Commitment to promoting the welfare of children and young people
Preferred
- Experience in coaching or teaching
- Experience with pastoral care or boarding environments
- Experience with strength and conditioning programmes
- Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and policies
- Previous involvement in youth development or sports programmes
