Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver swimming lessons in a safe and fun manner.
- Plan lessons tailored to each swimmer's needs to ensure progress and engagement.
- Follow the ASA awards schemes and Swim England guidance.
- Teach a range of ages and abilities, including those with disabilities.
- Maintain punctual start and finish times with effective time management.
- Record and maintain lesson records for each class to support progression.
- Issue Certificates/Badges or Achievement Awards termly to swimmers who demonstrate required skills.
- Communicate in a friendly and professional manner with all students and parents.
- Assist with setting up and clearing away equipment as part of the team.
- Stay updated with current techniques and developments in swimming instruction.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification with insurance cover.
- Ability to teach a wide range of ages and abilities.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to child safeguarding and welfare.
Preferred
- National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC).
- Experience in teaching children with disabilities.
- Flexibility to work during afterschool hours and Saturday mornings.
