Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to the needs of students with severe and profound learning difficulties
  • Collaborate closely with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support
  • Support the development of individual learning plans and monitor student progress
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practices and school-wide strategies
  • Foster a positive and motivating classroom environment that encourages student participation and achievement
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities
  • Support the implementation of the school's strategic goals and vision for educational excellence

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and teaching qualification
  • Experience working with students with severe learning difficulties and complex needs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other professionals
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student-centered learning
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement effective teaching strategies

Preferred

  • Experience within a special school or similar setting
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction and individualized learning approaches
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and specialist teaching methods
  • Experience with behavior management strategies
  • Willingness to engage in professional development and continuous learning
