The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and motivated Teacher of Computing to join a successful and forward-thinking department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a department that is committed to excellence in teaching and learning. The ideal candidate will be able to teach Computing at KS3 and have the potential to contribute to KS4 as well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Computing lessons to students at KS3, ensuring engaging and challenging learning experiences.
  • Support the development of the Computing curriculum and contribute to departmental planning and teaching strategies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve teaching methods.
  • Encourage and support student engagement with Computing and related subjects.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and events.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Computing and incorporate innovative teaching techniques.
  • Provide pastoral support to students where appropriate and in line with school policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Computing education.
  • Ability to teach Computing at KS3.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Computer Science or Business at KS4.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools used in Computing education.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching practices and differentiated instruction.
  • Passion for inspiring students and a commitment to lifelong learning.
