The Opportunity:

A Teacher of English A is needed to inspire and educate students in Grades 9–12. The role involves delivering the IGCSE and IB Diploma Language & Literature curriculum, supporting student development, and contributing to a vibrant academic and extracurricular environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English as part of the Swiss Matura and International Baccalaureate Diploma programmes
  • Design and deliver engaging, challenging lessons that foster a love of literature and language
  • Support students’ academic and personal growth both within and beyond the classroom
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school initiatives
  • Participate actively in the school’s co-curricular and extracurricular activities
  • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive learning environment
  • Assist in the development of students’ skills and confidence through interactive and student-centred teaching methods

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree in English or a closely related subject (or currently working towards one)
  • Teaching qualification recognised for upper secondary schools
  • Proven teaching experience at IGCSE level and IB Diploma (Language & Literature)
  • Strong commitment to student-centred learning and excellent pedagogical skills
  • Confident, flexible, and collaborative professional with experience working with young people in an international boarding school environment
  • EU/EFTA Citizenship

Preferred

  • Experience with professional sports coaching
  • Experience in an international educational setting
