The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in both English and Maths tailored to the needs of SEN students.
  • Support students across the MLD resource and specialist provision, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing detailed feedback to support learning and development.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student performance and progress.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in SEN education and incorporate these into teaching and support strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in English and Maths.
  • Ability to teach across key stages, with a focus on KS3.
  • Commitment to supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Preferred

  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Experience in a specialist provision or resource base setting.
  • Background in primary or secondary teaching with a focus on SEN support.
  • Experience with curriculum development and differentiated instruction.
