Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons across KS3 to KS5, including A-level groups.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes student progress and aspiration.
- Work collaboratively with the English department to share best practices and enhance pedagogy.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through effective teaching and pastoral care.
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure all learners make excellent progress.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and professional development.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Participate in departmental meetings and planning sessions to maintain high standards of teaching.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- Proven experience teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Experience of teaching A-level English.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for English.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred
- Experience of leading or contributing to curriculum development.
- Experience with teaching English as a second language.
- Experience of working in a multi-academy trust or similar setting.
- Experience of delivering professional development sessions or mentoring other teachers.
