Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student achievement and progression.
  • Support students in developing a deep understanding of Mathematics and its real-world applications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and enhance teaching and learning across the faculty.
  • Take responsibility for the management and development of the Mathematics curriculum.
  • Participate in the school’s Continuing Professional Development (CPDL) programme and contribute to staff training and development.
  • Engage in the assessment and monitoring of student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and pastoral care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
  • Relevant degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching Mathematics at secondary level.
  • Commitment to student progress and high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Further Mathematics.
  • Experience of working in a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative environment.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives or curriculum development.
  • Familiarity with educational research and its application in the classroom.
