The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Philosophy, Religion and Ethics to join a successful and hard-working department. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning and development at KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Philosophy, Religion and Ethics across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to contribute to KS5.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Support the development of students’ critical thinking and ethical understanding.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental performance and outcomes.
- Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and staff development activities.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student wellbeing.
- Stay up to date with curriculum developments and best practices in teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Philosophy, Religion and Ethics.
- Ability to teach at KS3 and KS4.
- Commitment to student engagement and academic excellence.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with young people and a passion for education.
Preferred
- Experience teaching at KS5.
- Ability to teach a second subject.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
- Strong track record of student achievement and outcomes.
- Experience with CPD and professional development.
