The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Philosophy, Religion and Ethics to join a successful and hard-working department. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning and development at KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Philosophy, Religion and Ethics across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to contribute to KS5.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Support the development of students’ critical thinking and ethical understanding.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental performance and outcomes.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and staff development activities.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student wellbeing.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum developments and best practices in teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Philosophy, Religion and Ethics.
  • Ability to teach at KS3 and KS4.
  • Commitment to student engagement and academic excellence.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with young people and a passion for education.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching at KS5.
  • Ability to teach a second subject.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
  • Strong track record of student achievement and outcomes.
  • Experience with CPD and professional development.
