Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and inclusive Science curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental and whole-school initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of inquiry, critical thinking, and scientific literacy among students.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to support student achievement and school values.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities throughout the academic year.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and science-related events that enhance student engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Proven experience in Science teaching at the appropriate level.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive and student-centred teaching.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering innovative Science curricula.
  • Familiarity with using technology to enhance Science teaching.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (if applicable).
  • Leadership experience or an interest in taking on a leadership role within the department.
