The Opportunity:

As a Teaching and Learning Coordinator Art, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the artistic development of students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop the Art curriculum to ensure it meets the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • Coordinate and lead a team of specialist teachers and support staff to deliver a creative and engaging learning experience.
  • Support students in achieving excellence in Art through extracurricular activities, competitions, and partnerships with local cultural organisations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate creative thinking and expression across the curriculum.
  • Oversee the use of specialist facilities, including art studios, photography darkrooms, and ceramics areas.
  • Promote and manage the school's annual Art exhibition and other key events.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and achievement in Art.
  • Ensure that all students have access to high-quality Arts experiences, regardless of background or starting point.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Art or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading a department and managing a team of teachers.
  • Strong subject knowledge and practical skills in Art.
  • Experience in developing and delivering a creative curriculum.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in running extracurricular Art clubs and workshops.
  • Experience in working with external partners, including local artists and cultural organisations.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and technologies used in Art education.
  • Experience in managing large-scale events such as art exhibitions.
