The Opportunity:
A full-time Teaching Assistant - Foundation Stage position is available to support the delivery of high-quality education to young learners. The role involves working closely with class teachers and other teaching assistants to create a stimulating and nurturing environment for children. This is a maternity cover position starting in March 2026, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and supportive school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support individuals and groups both inside and outside the classroom to enhance learning experiences.
- Contribute positively to teaching and learning by identifying and addressing the developmental needs of children in the Foundation Stage.
- Demonstrate patience, a caring attitude, and confidence in managing large groups of young learners.
- Collaborate effectively with the teaching team to deliver the Foundation Stage curriculum in line with the EYFS Framework.
- Facilitate learning both indoors and outdoors, adapting to all weather conditions.
- Attend staff meetings and fulfill duty obligations as required.
- Participate in the after-school activity programme and contribute to the overall school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A CACHE Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of relevant experience working with children in the Foundation Stage.
- Knowledge of the British curriculum, EYFS Framework, and Development Matters.
- Experience in a teaching or teaching assistant role within the Foundation Stage.
- Fluency in English with strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A patient and nurturing approach to working with children.
Preferred
- Experience with interactive play and early years development.
- Confidence in leading small group activities and supporting individual learners.
- Familiarity with digital tools and Ed Tech resources used in modern classrooms.
