The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning across the school. This role is central to creating a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment that helps students thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Class Teacher in delivering engaging lessons by preparing resources and setting up learning spaces.
- Help maintain a purposeful and supportive classroom environment that enables effective learning.
- Work with individuals and small groups of students to support learning and help achieve learning targets.
- Monitor and record students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers on achievements and concerns.
- Support positive behaviour by encouraging responsibility and promoting respectful conduct.
- Assist with the preparation, organisation, and maintenance of classroom materials and resources.
- Provide supervision and care for students during playtimes, break times, lunchtimes, trips, and school activities.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, contributing to strong home–school communication.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A caring and positive professional with a genuine interest in supporting children’s learning and development.
- Some understanding of classroom practice and effective teaching and learning strategies.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with teachers, students, and families.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with the flexibility to support a wide range of classroom and school activities.
Preferred
- Experience with classroom support or teaching assistance in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and inclusion practices in education.
- Experience with working in a multicultural or international school environment.
