Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs in a classroom setting
- Assist in the delivery of individual and group learning activities
- Help develop students' confidence, independence, and social skills
- Work closely with teachers and therapists to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment
- Monitor and record students' progress and behavior
- Provide one-to-one support where needed
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Commitment to supporting the holistic development of students
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
Preferred
- Previous experience in a classroom or educational setting
- Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- Experience with autism or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Understanding of inclusive teaching practices
