Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs in a classroom setting
  • Assist in the delivery of individual and group learning activities
  • Help develop students' confidence, independence, and social skills
  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment
  • Monitor and record students' progress and behavior
  • Provide one-to-one support where needed
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Commitment to supporting the holistic development of students
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a classroom or educational setting
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Experience with autism or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Understanding of inclusive teaching practices
