Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with Special Educational Needs in a mainstream classroom environment
  • Assist in planning and delivering learning activities tailored to individual needs
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a consistent approach to student support
  • Monitor and record student progress regularly
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement and participation
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Assist with administrative tasks and preparation of resources as required
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education plans

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A genuine passion for working with young people and a commitment to their academic and personal development
  • Excellent communication and literacy skills
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build positive relationships with colleagues and students
  • High level of motivation and a proactive approach to work

Preferred

  • Previous experience in an educational setting, particularly as a Teaching Assistant
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language
  • Experience in developing and implementing individual education plans
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and strategies
