Teaching Assistant needed to support learning and student success at a dynamic 11-16 academy.

The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support teaching and learning by working with individuals or small groups of pupils under the direction of teaching staff. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student achievement and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive learning community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff by assisting with learning activities and managing small groups of students.
  • Work closely with students to provide individualised support and help them reach their full potential.
  • Contribute to the delivery of lessons, including preparation and organisation of learning resources.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Assist with behaviour management and support students in developing self-discipline and positive learning habits.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistent and effective teaching practices.
  • Participate in school events and activities that enhance student learning and school culture.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff when needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and support a range of learning needs.
  • Commitment to student success and a positive learning culture.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role.
  • Experience with inclusive education practices and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Familiarity with curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies.
  • Knowledge of teaching and learning methodologies.
