The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and students to deliver a tailored curriculum and foster a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students to focus and make progress in lessons
- Assist the teacher/tutor in the preparation of work and learning materials
- Support students during school-based and community-based learning activities
- Help students develop formal learning skills, self-help skills, life skills, and social understanding
- Work as part of a team under the direction of a teacher or tutor
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support student progress
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Well-developed organisation and communication skills
- Ability to work flexibly in relation to tasks undertaken
- Ability to be a good team player
- Commitment to safeguarding and protecting students
Preferred
- A Teaching Assistant qualification
- Knowledge of Autism and/or Special Educational Needs
- Experience working with students with special educational needs
