The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This role is essential in helping young people achieve their potential and thrive in a supportive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEND, including those with physical impairments, in a classroom setting
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and ensuring students make progress
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
  • Demonstrate patience, sensitivity, and an understanding of child development
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve shared goals
  • Use ICT and numeracy and literacy skills to support learning
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Participate in training and development opportunities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEND
  • Strong communication skills with students and teachers
  • Good numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills
  • Understanding of child development and learning
  • Ability to work flexibly within a team

Preferred

  • Experience in a SEN setting
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies
  • Experience with classroom management
  • Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children
