The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This role is essential in helping young people achieve their potential and thrive in a supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEND, including those with physical impairments, in a classroom setting
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons and ensuring students make progress
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
- Demonstrate patience, sensitivity, and an understanding of child development
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve shared goals
- Use ICT and numeracy and literacy skills to support learning
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Participate in training and development opportunities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEND
- Strong communication skills with students and teachers
- Good numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills
- Understanding of child development and learning
- Ability to work flexibly within a team
Preferred
- Experience in a SEN setting
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies
- Experience with classroom management
- Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Flexible working hours with core hours from 8.30am to 3.00pm
- Term-time only contract with 39 weeks of work per year
