Teaching Assistant Level 2 (FWTA2) job opportunity with 37 hours per week, term time only.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 2 (FWTA2) to join our team and support students aged 4–18 with diverse needs. This is a key role in helping students achieve their full potential within a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff in delivering high-quality lessons to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Assist in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment that encourages independence and personal development.
  • Work closely with students to provide individualized support tailored to their unique needs and learning goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to the teaching team.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes celebration and well-being.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of activities that support students’ educational, social, and emotional development.
  • Ensure all safeguarding responsibilities are fulfilled in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to supporting students with a range of needs, including those with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and sensory or physical needs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when needed.

Preferred

  • Experience in a special school setting.
  • Knowledge of Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Experience with teaching or supporting students with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices and strategies.
